My wife's family on her mother's side.

A year after this picture was taken
the boy with the fly died at the front and his mother had died of diphtheria.

The eldest daughter took over her mother's duties.

Shortly afterwards, she had an illegitimate child, who was given away immediately after birth and grew up in a home.

The child, a boy, only had contact with his mother again when he was an adult. Despite his urgent wish, his mother never told him who his father was.

He died before his mother, who seemed quite emotionless after his death.
