Friendship
He doesn´t know his parents.
Growing old.
He has been working in a retirement home for 15 years.
When he started there, old age seemed a long way off for him. Not any more.
He has grown old by now.
His hair has thinned. It's all white now.
His neck is wrinkled and he's got a pot
belly.
He regularly takes medication. It would
be difficult for him to manage without it.
He sees the weakness of the people he cares for.
He sees illnesses that he does not want to get.
He sees people whose minds no longer function.
Now he realizes that the rest of his life has already begun.
And he realizes that much of what he has believed
was wrong.
